Kazumi Otomo (Male, 1948-)
Western painter of the Barbizon school from Fukushima Prefecture, former director of the Contemporary Japan Art Association.
She pursues a naturalistic lyrical style and unique realism. She mainly likes to paint idyllic natural landscapes, rural landscapes, and old folk houses.
Just as the pastoral poets Millet (Jean-François Millet) and Corot (Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot) depicted poetic scenes of farmhouses and the land, they continue to express their feelings in the spirit of Japan today. Continue creating.
He moved to Tokyo in 1970. He mastered a variety of painting techniques and began presenting his works. At the same time, he built connections in commercial design and art.
In 1973, he became the exclusive Western painter for Sankyo Bijutsu Co., Ltd. in Suginami Ward, Tokyo. Since then, he has exhibited at the Soukikai Exhibition and won many prizes. he becomes a member.
In 1976, he won the gold medal at the Tokiwa Art Painting Exhibition and was invited to Paris.
He was selected for the Broadway Painting Exhibition in 1976. From this year, he became a freelance writer.
In 1978, he left Soukikai.
In 1989, he acquired works from Sekishuku-cho, Chiba Prefecture, and
acquired them for ``Gallery Akebono Sekishukuro.'' In 1990, his works were selected for the exhibition depicting Japanese nature (Ueno Royal Museum).
In 1991 he was selected for the Ginza Masamitsu Gallery Grand Prize Exhibition Encouragement Award and the 65th National Exhibition.
In 1992, he was selected for the 66th Kokuten.
He was selected for the 70th Shunyokai Exhibition and the 69th Hakujitsu Exhibition in 1993.
In 1999, he opened the ``Izumigaoka Art Museum/Clock Tower Gallery'' in his hometown of Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.
